Since 2003 we have been participants in a pilot program called Enterprise Based Conservation.Each year, our country is monitored independently and we receive incentive payments for improvements in ground cover percentage relevant to rainfall received. This is a ground breaking program because it acknowledges that production and conservation can go hand in hand.The program was originally established by West 2000 Plus but is now administered by Western Catchment Management Authority. More recent Enterprise Based Conservation projects focus solely on locking up country for conservation rather than objectively managing using grazing as a tool for land regeneration.
